Deacon calls Greg as he drives from the plant.
Greg answers the phone with, “What ya doin?”
“Simon wants us to come up and hunt some predators so he
doesn’t lose any calves to them.”
Greg assures him that he is game. He just needs to talk to Lana and see what
she has going on and he will let him know.
Greg then turns the tables on the conservation and asks him what he
thought of Crissy. Deacon tells him that
she is beautiful enough to take anybody’s breath away, knowing that she took
his breath away. He continues telling
him that he isn’t totally against hanging out with her he just is not ready to
get into a relationship. Greg tells him
that is what he pretty much told Lana and Crissy, but it would be great for the
four of them to hang out. Deacon agrees that
it would be great, he would not continuously feel like the third wheel. Greg asks Deacon what he is doing later. Deacon tells Greg that he is going over to
his parent’s for dinner, as it is his sister Sara’s birthday. Deacon tells Greg that he will give him a
call later when he is on his way home.
Deacon gets home and through the shower. All cleaned up, he leaves for his parent’s
house. He is running about a half an
hour late but his family has come to expect this from him. He walks in to his parent’s house to find his
family saying a blessing over the food.
He quietly sneaks in and waves to his young niece and nephew who are trying
not to get caught peeking. They smile
and giggle. He takes a seat at the opposite
end of the table of his father, Frank.
Frank finishes saying the blessing, looks up and smiles. His mother, Judy starts wildly dishing up
food for the little ones.
