Brief overveiw of my novel "Apocalyptic Redemption"

My name is Jeremy E. Cherry, for those that know me this will surprise you.  I have spent the last year writing a novel with the working title "Apocalyptic Redemption" , a novel with around 107,000 words.
Brief summery:
The apocalypse is unleashed on the military bases of the world, this travesty penetrates the core of humanity.  For the survivors the line between good and evil will blur, the only thing that will clarify this, is the motives behind their actions.  For some love will be the driving force behind their actions, for others it will be greed
Chapter 1
Today is March fourth and it started out like any other day.  Deacon woke up at two o’clock a.m. to the sound of his alarm.  He showers and gets himself something to eat.  As he begins loading his pockets with his phone, pocket knife and wallet, he wonders to himself how the day is going to go with training the new driver.  Lately, it has been hard to find good help.  He climbs in his truck and looks at Katelyn in his engagement announcement wedged in the weather sill around the door.  He sits for a moment, contemplating what the future would have held for them if she had not been taken from him.  Back to reality, he starts his truck and drives across town.  Down Main Street, the streets seem emptier than usual on this brisk morning.  He is running a little late, but is not really that concerned.
