Deacon and Crissy walk over to his truck, she tells him how
much she loves his truck in an attempt to start up a conversation. Deacon thanks her and adds that working on it
clears his mind. Deacon opens the door. With
how small she is, she wonders if she can get in wearing that skirt. Asking Deacon for help, she tells him that
she could make it in any other day if it wasn’t for the fact that she was going
to share “All of Victoria’s Secrets” wearing that skirt. Deacon helps her in while she holds her skirt
down around her. He shuts the door and
walks around the front of his truck smiling, and chuckling quietly to himself. She asks him a little embarrassed, if he saw
anything as he jumps into the driver’s seat.
“No.”
“Then why the smile?”
He tells her that she is funny and laughs out loud, this
time. She pretends to pout. They pull out of the restaurant in the
direction of his house. On the way, they
talk about their families and how they grew up. She talks about how she lives with her sister,
who is a nurse in the emergency room at the hospital. Continuing, she tells him she is going to
school but hasn’t decided what she wants to be when she “grows up” she
laughs. At the idea of her statement Deacon
cuts in and explains that he is never “growing up”, he is just going to drive big
trucks. They both laugh. Then she tells him that she hopes Lana
doesn’t pick out a “chick flick”, because she does not really feel like another
sappy love story.
“That kind of stuff doesn’t happen in real life, there are
no knights in shining armor swooping in to rescue you.”
Deacon Laughs.
“That a Girl!”
