Jayce comments that he has never seen this much traffic at “ops”
right before a mission. The remainder of
the unit focuses in on their Captain’s words.
“Whatever this is, I think we are at the center of it.” Andre
adds to the suspicions.
Sergeant Woods is waiting for them outside the theater. She stands, saluting Captain Granger.
“Is Dad in there?” Jayce asks her.
She nods, wearing a worried expression on her face.
He opens the door to find only seven chairs left. The chairs meant for his team sit front and
center in the dimly lit room. He subtly
glances around at all the high ranking officials gathered in one room at the
same time. Everyone turns their eyes towards
the team as Jayce and his men enter the room.
They take their seats next to the Colonel in the small auditorium facing
a large projection screen.
“Is what we are doing here this serious?” Jayce leans over
whispering to Stan.
The Colonel does not answer, but stands up to take his place
in front to address the group.
Sergeant Woods sits down in the Colonel’s seat next to Jayce. After being ignored by the Colonel, Jayce
leans over and asks her if “this” is really this serious. She interrupts him, putting her index finger
against her lips, as Colonel Wallace begins to speak. He thanks them regrettably under the circumstances,
and then begins.
