Ben walks into the room, announcing that it is Friday and that
they are going to go to the club. Jayce
is not a big fan of that sort of thing.
“Let’s just call the guys and hang out here.” Jayce attempts to talk them out of the club.
“Granger, get ready. We
are partying tonight. Besides, we don’t
know when we are going to get called up again.” Ty interjects.
Jayce tells them that he needs to go and get some new clothes
if they are going out. Ty and Ben both
offer to go with him, explaining that his fashion sense is “less than stellar”. Ben then races Ty to Jayce’s jeep. Ty makes it to the front seat first and Ben
climbs into the back seat. As they pull
away from the parking lot, Ty pulls out his mp3 player.
“You two better not get all amped up and start shit with any
civilians while we are out.” Jayce warns, knowing it will be some sort of heavy
metal that Ty will put on.
Jayce reaches over and turns down the stereo. He begins explaining what had been discussed
in the Colonel’s office, his plans to retire.
Both grow silent. Concerned, Ben
asks him who is going to take command of their unit.
