"New Roomates"

On the way home, Deacons manager calls him to advise him that the authorities have lifted the ban on semis,

“So, we will be running trucks in the morning?  What’s with the ban on the semis anyway?”

His manager tells him that he does not know, and that they are not releasing any explanations.  Deacon assures him that he will be there bright and early. Getting off the phone with his boss, he sets his phone back on the consol.  He moves his hand back to the steering wheel when Greg calls.  Reaching back for the phone Deacon answers it,

“What up?”

Greg asks him if Lana and he can come stay at his house for the night.   Deacon tells him that it is fine, but asks why.  Greg explains that things are getting really “weird” where they live and because Deacon lives more out in the country away from the craziness, it would be safer there.  Deacon tells them to grab what they need and start heading over.

Greg and Lana arrive the same time Deacon pulls into the driveway.  Deacon instructs Greg to park in the garage, since he has to leave early for work and does not want to have to wake them up in order to leave for work.  Deacon uses the garage door opener on the visor to open the garage door for them.  Parking the truck he walks into the garage and shuts the door behind him.  Going inside the house, Deacon tells them that they can sleep in his room.  The couple try to argue with him.  With a smile Deacon tells them sarcastically,
“Oh, that’s my fault I must have let you guys think that this was open for discussion.  Besides there isn’t a bed in either of the spare bed rooms and I sleep on the couch a lot anyways.”
